Please Welcome Jen Ashton to the TransRockies Team!

Jen is joining us as our new Customer Service & Race Office Manager

As we move into 2022, we’re excited to announce the addition of Jen Ashton to the TransRockies Race Series team as our new Customer Service and Race Office Manager. Jen will be the first point of contact for all participants, both via email and at our Canadian and US events. If you have questions, she’ll have answers, or will at least know where to find them.

Jen’s role is a new one here at TransRockies, and she will be working double duty as she takes over from Joanne Bragg, our current Registration Manager, and Emily Compton, our TransRockies Run Race Office Manager. Both Emily and Joanne have been with us for a long time and many of you may know them from events, or through email exchanges.

But don’t worry, Joanne and Emily aren’t saying goodbye just yet. They’ll still be with us for the better part of the 2022 race season—in the office and at events—helping Jen transition into her new role.

Thank You, Joanne and Emily

As they transition away from TransRockies, we’d like to thank Emily and Joanne for their great work and tireless efforts aimed at making TransRockies events truly special for our participants.

Joanne has been with the TransRockies Race Series for nearly our entire 20-year history. She began working at our events in different capacities before taking on the role of Registrations Manager nine years ago. In that position, she’s spent countless hours interacting with, and getting to know, as many of you as she can through email and at events.

Joanne has decided to step back from TransRockies to spend more time with family and explore new adventures. But she will definitely miss parts of the job.

“I’ve really come to appreciate all the friendships that I’ve built throughout my time at TransRockies,” says Joanne, “And I feel like it's a family with all the participants that I've gotten to know over the years.”

Although she hasn’t been with TransRockies as long as Joanne, Emily has certainly made her mark. For the last four years, she has been the TransRockies Run Race Office Manager and has had the opportunity to get to know many of you through her work with and at the event.

On top of her contribution to TransRockies, Emily works with her local school system, is an Association of Canadian Mountain Guides (ACMG) Hiking Guide, volunteer firefighter and runs, races and climbs in her spare time. She leads a busy life and has decided to step back from TransRockies to relieve some of the pressure on her time.

“I always look forward to attending the race in Colorado [TransRockies Run] and helping make sure racers have an amazing week,” says Emily, “I'm most certainly going to miss my colleagues. Many of whom this is the only time I get to see them over the year so that will be a big miss for me.”

But Emily won’t be a stranger, she still plans to help out with and attend some of our Canadian events where possible.

Jen Is No Stranger to Helping Others Succeed

As our new Customer Service and Race Office Manager, Jen has some big shoes to fill, but we’re sure she will do an amazing job. Jen is based in Penticton, BC—an endurance sports paradise—and has a wealth of experience helping people achieve their goals.

Prior to joining the TransRockies team, Jen spent 11 years as a personal trainer. And working in the fitness industry has given her the opportunity to work with, volunteer at and participate in numerous endurance events such as the Edmonton Marathon, Challenge Penticton, the Great White North Triathlon and the ITU World Triathlon. She has also acted as a guide and coach for corporate cycling teams, training camps and destination cycling camps.

Jen can’t wait to hit the ground running and get to know as many of you as she can.

“I'm excited to bring my positive energy, outgoing attitude, and helpful personality to the TransRockies team, and I'm looking forward to supporting participants at each and every event as they push past what they thought was possible and reach their highest potential!”

So, if you see Jen at an event this season, be sure to stop and introduce yourself.

The Details

While Jen will be transitioning into her new role over time, she will be answering email queries beginning immediately. For questions or clarification around registration, our events, or just to say hello, Jen can be reached at registration@transrockies.com or info@transrockies.com.
