TransRockies Gravel Royale Pairs with Felt Bicycles as Presenting Sponsor

This “two of a kind” takes the pot for gravel events in 2021

TransRockies Race Series, a global leader in adventure stage races, today announces Felt Bicycles as presenting sponsor of TransRockies Gravel Royale. Together, they are eager to continue to build upon the momentum of gravel cycling with this new and highly anticipated stage race taking place in British Columbia, August 23 - 26, 2021.

“We couldn’t be more excited to have Felt join us as a presenting sponsor,” says Aaron McConnell, President of TransRockies. “Their commitment to creating versatile, modern and fast gravel bikes makes them a great partner for our newest event.”

The TransRockies Gravel Royale traverses Panorama Mountain Resort, Nipika Mountain Resort, The Village of Canal Flats and finishes in the City of Fernie, B.C. These four stages will take riders on secluded gravel roads through the Canadian Rocky Mountains, traditional home to the Ktunaxa Nation Indigenous people. Riders will experience vast mountain views, native wildlife and winding stretches of gravel in this difficult, but achievable, challenge.

Felt Bicycles has recently changed its brand focus strictly to drop-bar bikes and will be prioritizing its new gravel and adventure bikes for 2021 and beyond.

“We believe that racing is an inalienable component of the cycling experience. It helps us produce the best bikes. And, it forges the connection to the athletes that truly inspires us.,” says Eric Sakalowsky, VP of Global Marketing at Felt. “With this sponsorship, we want to work with TransRockies to support and inspire the gravel scene.”

A number of Felt athletes will be competing in Gravel Royale, including members from Felt’s women’s cycling team—Team Twenty20. TransRockies’ goal for its inaugural event is to ensure its roster is made up of at least 33% women, which is just 3% away from currently.
